Al’s Pals
Al’s Pals is a service offered to all cancer patients in Milton Keynes. Al’s Pals is named after Alan Dumbell, who received cancer treatment at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH).
Alan often discussed having a ‘buddy’ to support and help him where he felt things were missing. It is his legacy to have a cancer buddy scheme like this and with the passion of his daughter and the support of MKUH, Al’s Pals was born.
Become someone’s pal
Volunteer at Al’s Pals today and offer support, companionship, empathy to any cancer patient from the start of their cancer journey through to the end.
Volunteers help patients by sitting and chatting with them while they receive treatment, talking to medical professionals with their consent if they are too upset to do so, signposting them to relevant services that could help them and their families, chatting on the phone in between hospital visits and more.

Open Corner – Backing you through the fight
Open Corner are a non-profit organization that uses the UK MMA and BJJ community to make a meaningful impact on mental health and suicide prevention.
Through their dedicated efforts, they unite sports enthusiasts to foster support, awareness, and resources for those in need of mental health assistance.
Adam Ledger
After becoming a qualified PGA Professional in 2010, Adam Ledger has since established a strong reputation for developing junior golfers as well as coaching several county level juniors.
Based at the esteemed Woburn Golf Club he trains, develops and mentors PGA trainees whilst overseeing Junior coaching, with us supporting both his own journey and the Golf pros of tomorrow.
